The second Vertex antenna, fifth ALMA antenna, at the OSF - 29 Nov, 2007.

The panel adjustment and driving test of the first antenna (the one in the backmost position) are going on. Main dishes of the second and third antennas are ready to be mounted - Sept 24, 2007.

Photo of Vertex antenna No 1 at OSF with seven tiers of surface panels installed. The assembly of Antenna #1 reflector is complete. Focus now shifts to commissioning of servo system - Sept 15, 2007.

At the ATF, the AEC brake and ACU issues have been resolved and static fringes on Mercury have been demonstrated with the new 2-antenna correlator and preproduction backends. Thanks to everyone for getting the ATF back into operation, especially Jack Meadows for fixing the AEC brakes, and Gene DuVall and Peter Napier for demonstrating fringes. All fringes were achieved using the new pointing model determined by Darrel Emerson and Jeff Mangum; one does not need to adjust the pointing over time now since the new model is better than the previous one.

Photogrammetry occurs soon on Melco No. 1 - Sept 3, 2007.

Panel tiers 2, 3 and 4 are mounted on the Vx antenna at the OSF. Antenna No 2 should arrive in Chile 2007 Sept 8 - Aug 31, 2007.

From January 16 thorough 17, Antenna Transporter FDR (final design review) was held in Germany. This picture was taken on the plant tour during a recess of the review. More than 20 people could stand in a row in front of this first transporter's frame during manufacture. The transporter will be supported by 28 tires under this 10-meter-wide frame, and the height of the frame will be approximately twice its width.
