Walking
From the Omni-Shoreham to Carnegie Institution:
- Travel from the hotel on Calvert Street at Woodley Park (2) to Carnegie Institution east of Dupont Circle (1)
- along Connecticut Avenue and P Streets.
- From the Carnegie Institution to the Omni-Shoreham Hotel:
- Follow P Street West to DupontCircle from CIW
- Follow Connecticut Avenue (1 to 2) from Dupont Circle, then
- Follow Calvert Street west to the hotel
Metro
From the Omni-Shoreham to Carnegie Institution:
The Woodley Park Metro is just North of Calvert and Connecticut on
Connecticut at 24th).
- One Metro Red Line stop toward Silver Spring or Glenmont is Dupont Circle,
where you will get off.
- Exit on the Q Street side, heading right on Q Street
all the way to 16th Street.
- At 16th, turn right to the Carnegie Institution
on P Street.
- You have arrived at the Carnegie Institution, the columned building on the left facing
16th Street.
- From the Carnegie Institution to the Omni-Shoreham Hotel:
- Follow P Street West to 18th Street from CIW
- Turn right on 18th to the Dupont Circle Metro stop at Q St.
- Take the Metro Red Line one stop north to Woodley Park.
- Head south on Connecticut to Calvert, then right to the hotel.
Restaurants
Near the Carnegie Institution of Washington Conference Center,
restaurants are abundant -- try 17th Street, between P and Q Streets,
or around Dupont Circle. Near the hotel, restaurants are 2 blocks north
on Connecticut Avenue from Calvert Street, or one Metro stop north
at Cleveland Park; for
ethnic restaurants head east on Calvert Street, then south on 18th Street
into the Adams-Morgan area.
