We received clearance for distributing the attached document. ...". The message Harvey forwards is from Deborah Vane at JPL/NASA: dvane@mail1.jpl.nasa.gov. Cheers, Darrel. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: CloudSat radar and orbit description document Date: Mon, 23 Aug 2004 00:22:40 -0400 From: Harvey Liszt To: Deborah Vane References: <40F68193.9020908@nrao.edu> Deb-- Last week I was on real vacation in Santa Fe at the opera, no email, no laptop, no astronomy. Most of all no spectrum management. So of course during this week the international radio astronomy spectrum management community realizes that the SFCG/24 meeting is coming up -- a natural venue to discuss CloudSat -- and frantically wants to know what is going on, and my silence causes them to go ballistic over the perception that NRAO and JPL were cutting a private deal. Unfortunately NRAO gave them ample justification for such dark thoughts when it dealt with Iridium, rather fecklessly, 10 years ago. Anyway a) there will be discussion of this at SFCG/24 initiated by IUCAF (www.iucaf.org and b) IUCAF wants to take over dealing with NASA on the CloudSat issue. They are quite put out that I and NRAO talked with you privately. regards, Harvey ------------------------------ Deborah Vane wrote: > Harvey, > > We received clearance for distributing the attached document.
